Starting your own home business can be exciting and a bit scary.  I remember several years ago the excitement and hopes of making a lot of money online. Yeah, I thought I was going to make it big. Little did I know that it was not as easy, or simple as the experts made it out to be. There are so many choices to make money online. How You Make Money Online

There are many choices of making money online. However, there are really only two ways to make money on the Internet or anywhere else for that matter. The first is providing a service. This can be a membership sites, forums,  text ad sites,  traffic exchange sites, CPA (Click Per Action) or any business that provides a service in exchange for monetary compensation. The second is products. As people we love to own things. Most products are known as consumables. Meaning the product will need to be replaced or updated at a future time. The most popular product is digital. This is any product such as an ebook,  report or software. The advantage of the type of product is there is no shipping cost, and the delivery is only limited to the download speed. If you are going to start a home business you will be using one or both of these methods to make money with your new business.

Affiliate Marketing

The most popular method of creating an income is affiliate marketing.  You do not need to own a website, but I recommend you do. Not having a website will limit your efforts. Most new marketers will choose to be an affiliate for Clickbank, because it costs nothing to join and you don’t have to have a website.  If you choose to be an affiliate marketer then, you will promote a vendor’s product in exchange for a commission when the product is sold. Clickbank is known for their high commissions  which can be up to 75%.  There are many people who are successful  promoting and selling affiliate product from Ebay and Amazon. Remember, just having your affiliate link or website will not guarantee you will be successful in  starting your home business.

MLM or Network Marketing

If you are in a referral, downline,  or gifting program you are involved in network marketing. Network marketing is  simply attracting others with the same goal to leverage their efforts to achieve a common goal.  The weakness of Multi Level Marketing or Network Marketing is that the people you have referred into your business lose the vision, quit. The most important element with this type of business is to create and maintain momentum.  If you decide to start a home business using network marketing, gain trust from the people you meet. They are more interested in a business relationship with you than in the product or service you are promoting.

Creating Your Own Product

I would say only a select few  Internet Marketers ever decide  to create their own products. It can be difficult, but it also produces the greatest results. Now you are the vendor and other people are promoting your product. If you look around the Internet you will see that the most successful Internet Marketers are selling their own product. It is a good plan to start with affiliate products and get a feel for what people are buying. Then you can create your own product and start your home business going in to a profitable direction.
